94 hardbody has ticking sound and smoke

my 94 hardbody with a ka24e has a loud ticking sound coming from the valve cover and some smoke from the valve cover also. what could be the problem? i recently chainged a timing guide, used helicoil to repair a striped rocker arm bolt hole.

adjust the valves and this should clean up the rattle. Sounds like the one you fixed is set too loose.
