Want to double check with the pros before I do anything "stupid"....

Anyways, saw the helpful guide on Q45.org on removing the glove compartment. Would it be safe to assume that replacing the darlington transistor (or is that a resistor?) would fix the problem?

Symptoms: On either auto or manual, only fan speed high would work. Off also works (as opposed to some other people on the board).

Bonus: What else should I be doing while I'm in there? I saw the pictures of the evaporator core cleaning. Anything else?

I took the blower fan in the house and scrubbed it as best as I could. You should be able to see the dirt on your condenser coils if it needs cleaning or not. Usually a crevice tool from a vacuum is good enough.

Yes it most likely is the resistor. Just find a used one and save your cash as I did. Put an add in the wanted to buy forums.

The Darlington transitor bridge blows when there is too much current demanded by a failing blower motor, so check it also. Rebuild or replace.

I just ordered a new part from Joe @ Infiniti. Unless someone has an extra one lying around that they'll let go of for inexpensive?
