I have a 94 G20 of my brothers. He's not rich by any means, and I have worked on many cars (work on busses as a job, but can find my way around most gas engines) but i'm stumped. the air intake plenum was loose. took it off, new gasket, new vac. hoses as they were bad. car runs better but is still not running right. the IAC valve has a screw head on it, it was fully closed. I opened it up some, the rpms came up, I closed it back off where it was. whats happening is not an idle problem, however when you drive it... if you put the throttle between 1/8 and 1/4 of the way down it stops getting gas, or chokes. not sure which but the forward momentum dies. let off it of it little and it comes back to life. push harder, comes back to life, but in that range there is nothing. I see that the TPS was loose. I did my best to get it ajusted within specs in the service manual. still acts up. I checked the timing.. it's advances as far as possible. timed it per the book... idles like a champ but you touch the throttle AT ALL and it dies, no matter how light or hard you hit it... any ideas here... im downing.

make sure your TPS is 0.54 i had the same problem as you and i checked the voltage of the TPS sensor when the car was shut off but the key was turned on but not started and it read 0 so i adjusted the Sensor and found 0.54 and bamm the car pulls just fine and all is well..And clean your MAF, maybe find another FPR check your Plug gap... And clean your IACV that helps alot...
