So I got the black 94 dash I bought from a NICO member who wrecked his vehicle, looking for a chance to get rid of the annoying yellowish "bling-wood" that came with my 92.
Everything installed fine with some exceptions, noted below each photo:
Before.
Before.
Before. I did not change the piece around the power window switches, because the buttons are shaped differently. Now I need to hunt down standard beige/tan plastic pieces for all four doors. Perhaps the dealer will have it.
As I was plugging in the new upper dash piece, I ended up with an extra connector that went nowhere. Apparently in the 94Q there's no light above the vent open/close switch. A damn shame. My guess is thats what the connector went to.
After. I had to take the mirror switch out of my old piece, because the new one didnt have a heated mirror button and the connector didn't fit.
After. Note how the ash tray doesnt fit properly. I need to get one from a 94.
After. It simply didnt fit right. But you cant tell unless you deliberately look for it.
After. The shifter. It didnt fit evenly, so I used a flathead screwdriver to tuck in the rubber surround.
After. More of the poorly fitting ashtray. I have to force it open and shut with considerable effort. It'll stay closed until I get a new ash tray.
After. This is the biggest annoyance. That gap. The other side of the steering wheel has proper fit, which is fine I guess since thats the only side that will be seen.
After. It looks nicer overall, classier and more subdued.
