Hey all. Only had this truck a couple of weeks and it is pretty cold old but my temp gauge seems to always be really low to me. Like if it were a gas gauge I'd say I have a quarter tank or less all the time. Should it not be in the middle of gauge somewhere? Like a half a tank?

Well, are you getting enough heat inside the cab? If not,, then maybe time to replace the thermostat, as it may not be closeing properly.

If you are getting plenty of heat in the cab,, and the engine is running ok, not sure that I would do anything,, unless someone says different.

On the d21 4cyl ka24e engine,, the temperature was about in the middle or just a tad below middle way's. On my '13 VQ40DE V6, the Temperature needle is also about 1/2 way,, when up to operateing temp.

Hey Rubble. Nope heat. In cab is fine. Lucy is not without her issues but running ok. I have a slight power loss at about 2500 rpm drops to maybe 24 then comes right back. Can be a bit sluggish off the line now and then bogs out hit the gas a bit more and she's fine. I do have exhaust work to do Y pipes on order leak in front of muffler. Get that fixed up and see how she is. If same I will do rotor distributor plugs and wires. Fuel filter I'm told is newer but may change it as well. I did read here somewhere these engines run best running a bit hot. Mine for sure is not running hot thought maybe its time for stat change

Well, if you are getting plenty of Cab Heat(That's what I meant above), then it seem's to me, that it's not that urgent, unless someone else says different.

At some point, you'll probably want to replace the thermostat,, which someone may have allready done,, and put in a colder thermostat than OE. Since we are in the middle of Winter,, Summer would be a better time,, seem's to me to see how the Temperature Gauge is doing.

With Lucy being her name,, that mean's it's a Girl Truck,, and we all know,, that can complicate thing's, just by gender alone... :)
