Quick question........can I slap a 94 Bose head unit and all 4 speakers into my 90Q, or will the wiring harnesses be different??

I hear the harnesses will not fit if I buy a 94 headunit and 94 speakers, to my 90Q......

I think for the 1995 and later Nissan Bose, you have to get an adapter. The connectors for 1990-1994 Q45 are the same; 1995-1996 Q45 are different.

Here's some interesting reading:

NuQ, I remember reading many post made by you and I am glad you are back. If you have no choice but to use a OEM 1994-1996 Infiniti Q45 audio system then it will work. What you have to do is separate the Amplifier and speaker from the enclosure of the 1994-1996 Q45 speaker case. That is because the plugs are different (Different color and shape). And that was done to prevent the factory workers/Techs/Owners from mixing them up. I think it was Brian AKA Maxnix who said that the 1990-1993 and 1994-1996 Q45 audio system was tailored for the actually year ranges.

The front speakers from a 1994-1996 Q45 have two extra prongs for the tweeters on the A-pillars. I want to use the OEM 1994-1996 Q45 connectors on my car since I have the OEM tweeters to make it a cleaner more OEM like install.

I can't confirm or deny though that the harnesses are the same, as Lino says but I am assuming they are.

Does anyone have a picture of the back side of a 94-96 Bose head unit?

Thanks guys, my Q is getting new brakes put on tomorrow, so I will check the rear speaker harnesses to see if they do match up. My bigger dilema will be what to do with the front tweeters. I remember years ago looking around for grey A-pillars with the tweeters, but didn't come up with anything. I will either have to go that route, or find a way to sqeeze them into the factory door location.

So the 94 head unit plays CD's? I might want to do this! I'm tired of the radio!

Hey SD - there's an aux din to RCA adapter (with an activation toggle switch) that QSIGuy (Shane) makes and sells that will let you plug in an external CD, MP3, or whatever into your existing unit.

NICE! Now I need new speakers, My rear ones are barely working, the fronts are missing and blown.

I'll look into that, I guess now is a good time, I have my console apart because of my 5-speed swap and hydro e brake.

Infinity (the speaker company) makes some 2 ohm Bose replacement speakers. I believe they are called the Infinity Kappa series.
