I've searched the internet and other forums but haven't been able to find a definitive answer. Has anyone tried using front struts from another vehicle to make this work? I bought a set of new front struts from the local parts store, only to find out they weren't the proper ones for the vehicle until I got home with the vehicle apart.

While the old struts were out I also noticed that the old springs from my S14 matched the ones that came off the Altima. Only difference was the height, S14 OEM springs sit approximately 1.5" lower, ID and OD match perfectly though. Is it safe to assume that S14 struts will work (or S13 for that matter) as long as I retain the hat and hardware from the Altima?
