ok so i just a 94 nissan altima and during a long drive from the east coast to fort campbell i had a crack in the radiator that i didnt notice. so when im about 40 minutes away from Ft Campbell i look at my thermostat cause the A/C stopped and its critical. it didnt heat up at all until right then not during the rest of my 25 hour drive. well anyway the guy i had it towed to said i probably melted the O-rings and its going to need a new engine. so i was wondering if any of could help me out. id like to do the work myself only this is the first foreign car i have worked on. im also look to get some more pep out it too. i was wonder if an s13 might work? send me some help.

If I understand you correctly you want to take a KA24DE motor out of an S13 and put it into your 94 Altima. This will not work. Your Altima's engine is transversally mounted into the engine bay and is hooked up to a transaxle transmission. The S13 is longitudinally mounted with a RWD transmission.

I would source out an altima engine from a local junk yard or hit up our classified section.bud

In my old 94, i swapped in an 01 motor. you just have to swap out the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and some sensors. Its not really hard if you are patient. just time consuming. It helps to have someone there though that knows about engines. but you cant put a 240 motor in an altima.
