94-96 Q45 Clock Illumination Problem

I recently retrofitted the clock from a 94-96 Q (the gold tone one) into my 90 Q45. Works great. The problem is at night, when I have the dash lights dimmed way down (the way I like to drive) the clock is so dim it is not readable. My old clock had silver hands that reflected the light better and was readable. I think I have seen related postings complaining about the gold tone clocks (maybe in an I35). Is another bulb available that I can use which is significantly brighter, or will removing the blue tint from the existing bulb make a significant difference?

Both clocks in each of my 1995 is way too dim to read at night.

I do wish there were a digital led time display on the radio.

I also have eyes of a certain age.:rolleyes

on my j30 the analog clock is slightly dim but very readable. I can always tell the time at night.
