94 300zx climate control screen problem

[1994Nissan300zx]

When I bought the car everything worked on the climate control like the wipers and fan buttons. The only problem it had was the screen was not lit up. Yesterday I bought a new pod and plugged it in it worked for about 1 second then went out I took it apart and it had a small burn mark in the bottom left part of the screen exactly like the old one. I checked all of the fuses and there all in the right spot and none are blown. I don't understand how it blew the screen but not the fuse. I couldn't find any topics like this and I can't seem to find help from anyone. I would really appreciate any ideas anyone has. Thank you in advance.
