94 240sx vs. 91 mr2 turbo

i was wondering there is this thirty yr. old down the street with a 94 240sx with a S13 red top drop in and is basicly stock...besides a front mount and down pipes. the problem is that yesterday he started saying that his car could kill my 91 MR2 turbo 5spd. with turbo timer and exhaust. I was wondering because i really dont know how fast these cars are with those mods but i really dont think he can beat my MR2. So if any of yall every raced a MR2 or just know the answer to this ill be glad to hear. Im racing him tomorrow nite @ the spot around here.thnx

Ya never know it might be a 2 part race. A 1/4 mile race and then a foot race at then end of the 1/4.

arent all 94 240sx's convertible? im sure they are. if it isnt a convertible than my money is on the 240 for the simple fact that it has more mods. and i doubt hes running stock boost on a front mount

Well, the only way to find out is to race. There's too many factors to tell accurately here. But while we're bench racing, check out the times each one will do stock:

SR20 S13's at stock boost will do 14s. If he has a FMIC and upped boost, he could very will dip into the 13s if he's a good driver. Good luck.

Oh and I don't know why, but i've seen some weird people use the word turbo timer in place of the word boost contoller. Usually noobs and ricers though..

ya, also take into consideration of the non-motor factors... i.e. LSD, tires, gutted interior, stuff like that. tires make a huge difference.

I give it to the mr2 turbo. Sw20 will kill an s13 w/ sr anyday with equal mods.

A fmic and dp on stock boost and stock exhaust won't do squat.

Yeah i really think i could win the only think that could stop me if my mommy sees me sneaking out my car tonight... gurrr anyways yeah im kinda new to turbo and to drving lol im only 17 but im decent at drving...so sorry about mention "turbo timer" who know it could be a 2 part race lol ya know how it is start racing get done i should win dud... then stop talk smack and then jump back in the car and race away before the cops come... intresting lol

Being that your 17 I doubt you can drive that good. Guessing that both cars are about even in power I would guess the "30 year old" will smoke you. The MR2 has the engine in the back so LSD or not he will have less traction problems than you. Don't recall if you mentioned you had a VLSD or not.

Haha ha hahahahah...guess what tho... I WON!!!!!!!! but barely gosh he almost had me!!!!!!!!! He had me until 3rd then i won by like half a car length...i was like dang old man got skills. but yeah that was the good news the bad news my mommy heard me comming back home...tear for got to turn car off and coast in the driveway...im like grounded for like a week probably for "going to McDees " for a late night snack lol anyways yeah a SR 240sx pretty fast! I gotta give props to yall i thought i would own by like 2 car lengths. I need to find a faster car to race now....the hunt is on!!!!!

Good job, although street racing isn't particularly drag racing...should try it legally sometimes. You'd be surprise how fast your car really is compared to others in a 1/4 mile.

LOL. I beat a MR2 Turbo last weekend. Didnt know what he had done but he went away very fast. My SR is a little more than stock. A guy in my area has a Turbo MR2 and cant break 15's with it. Like a 2.4 60ft i think. Damn does he suck at driving.

OMFG.......im not driving my MR2 people...i blew my turbo...gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrri was racing a Eclipse GSX...i was trying soo hard to catch up then like bang... i lost like all power in my engine...gurrrgurrrgurrrgurrri need a new car anyone want to buy a MR2 in great condition?

MR2 sence you dont know nothing about his car. And MR2 has a faster motor a LSD. and from it sounds you know nothing about the car your in.
