so this has been going on for a while now. at first i thought it was the brake pads so i replaced them. it stopped for about a day and then it started again. the following week i took the brakes apart and rechecked them. when i put it back together and drove around the noise stopped again but only for a day.

the squeaking only happens when the car is moving and it never squeaks when i brake. the faster i go the louder it gets. i also noticed that when i apply the brakes i hear a single thump coming from that brake but only when i brake suddenly.i really need some help. im tired of hearing that stupid noise!!!!thanks in advance

I got the same thing (except for the thump) and I've been working on figuring out what it is for weeks... The only conclusion I came to is that is has something to do with the humidity because when it's really dry its either much less prevalent or nonexistent. Let me know if you figure out what the hell it is... and I'll do the same.

cool, i'll try sanding the rotors down. maybe that will do the trick. if it does i'll let you know.

Probably a good bet, I decided to save that for last just for the sake of salvaging what was left of my 17 year old rotors but if it works definitely let me know.

ok so this is what i did, i bled the brakes, moved the dust cover on the rotor a few inches back using a screw driver and i did a light sand on the rotor. i did this on saturday and since then no more squeaking. so im ot sure which did the trick since i did them all at once. hope that helps. and if the problem returns i'll post it up.
