94 240 Auto transmission Problem (searched)

About once a day, the transmission will not shift from 2nd to 3rd and seemingly drops into neutral while I rev away. Doesn't have to be under load to make this happen. Manually shifting in and out of another gear eventually resolves it but there seems to be no pattern to this misbehavior. Ideas?

This could be an electrical issue. Maybe the Transmission Range Sensor has an issue. Maybe the shift 2/3 shift solenoid has an issue. Best thing to do is to have a certified tech look at it if you're not sure and you don't wanna mess anything up.
