94 10 Disk Sony CD CHANGER

Hey,Does anybody know what models numbers of Sony 10 disk CD Changer will fit into my Q45t? I have the magazine, but no changer. Please help me! Thanks

dont believe any current models will work with the- infiniti specific interface,clarion makes a 6 disc that I got from joe to replace the sony that came with the 94-96q-the original sony had many problems

Check with Joe. If you only have one of the out of production XA-10B magazines, I would sell it and get the 6 CD dealer add on replacement.

Not any CD player will mate as the control unit interface is proprietary.

Joe will know which one it is. Like I said, it is proprietary to Infiniti.

Here is what a friend of mine, who worked for Infiniti during the 1st series, said.

The Sony 10 disc, which was about a $1,000 option, cost the dearlers around $600. It was the same, exact, unchanged, unit that after market audio installers had for retail at around $350. The Infiniti unit had a custom pigtail for interfacing with the Bose system. Infiniti/Sony made the proprietary pigtail dificult to get so that there was not competition between the after market and the dealers.

I have a Sony, but the model number is not easy to find. I might get the time this weekend to take the custom mounting out so that I can find the number for you, unless someone finds it earlier.

I have a new unused Sony 5 disk changer that replaces the 10(discontinued). Will sell for $140.

Any 6-disc Clarion on eBay that works with Infiniti Bose stereos will work. The one from my wife's 2000 I30t worked just fine in the 94 Q45.

I wouldn't pay more than $25 for a Sony 10 disc. I bought 3, and none lasted more than 6 months before they broke.

Fixing this old of a unit is expensive as well.

The "best option" IMHO is to install a newer Nissan/Infiniti Bose In-Dash CD HU. There's a couple threads on it, but long story short for $150 (used HU on ebay + Nissan adapter) you get in dash cd play.

I posted pics on how to fix the Sony changer in a previous thread. Its fairly simple if you're comfortable with tiny screwdrivers.

Otherwise, the best way to avoid the headache of owning a POS Sony is to replace it with something that isn't Sony.
