Hey guys, saturday night my windows and locks quit working all at once. Ive never had any wiring issues with the car before, so ive checked fuses and those all look okay. Are the locks also ran through the window switch or do i have an issue somewhere else? Car is 100% stock besides 5 speed swapped. Everything worked fine before this. Ive searched but only found issues with either-or, but not both at the same time. What do you guys think?

Should be 2 seperate issues.

Check all fuses/relays again. Driver's kick panel and relays under the hood.

To be safe for the windows make sure you don't have the window lock pushed down.

They both feed off the same circuit breaker. It's possible something's either tripped the breaker, or the breaker has gone bad.

It's possible that the ignition relay has gone bad, but you would see issues with other systems that feed off of the secondary switched side. SE model ignition relays have two switched circuits inside them, one for windows/sunroof and the other goes to bottom 3 fuses on the left side of the interior fuse panel. The relay is a pain in the butt to get to. It's next to the SMJ up under the dash and is a brown 6 pin relay. The circuit breaker feeds the switched side of the relay for the windows and the locks branch their 12v from that circuit after the breaker, but before the relay (making it a constant 12v while the windows will be switched 12v dependent on the ignition switch). The fuse for that circuit is under the hood and it's one of the big green fuses with the window on top.

Check the fuse first, if it's good, take a test light or multi-meter and test for 12v voltage at the harness plugs for the window amp, window switch, and the door lock timer. The 12v supply for the windows should be White/Black and the door lock timer should be White/Red. If you have no voltage at those units and a good fuse, then it sounds like a failed circuit breaker or maybe a short in the system that's tripping the breaker without damaging the fuse. I'm not sure what the amperage required to trip the breaker is as I can't seem to find the rating in the FSM and don't have one out of the car to see if it's stamped on the breaker. I have a feeling it's lower than the fuse though as the larger, windowed fuses generally have higher rates.

Hopefully, this will get you on the right track. I hope it's just a bad fuse.

awesome thank you for the info! i checked the window fuse today, and swapped it with another fuse, and still no luck. so thats out of the question for now. i did some research today on my down time and found a few spots on the verts that guys have found a couple areas where wires have corroded or broke, one under the drivers seat, and the other underneath the center console by where the wires go to the switch for the rear quarter window switch on the verts. so tomorrow i will check the breaker behind the kick panel, and if nothing there, ill pull the console and pray to god all it is is a faulty wire. ill keep you updated!

Removed the kick panel tonight and pulled the breaker for the windows and locks. Figured id replace that first since it seems to be the most logical issue. HOPEFULLY that fixes it. If not, well, we'll go from there. Lol

Alright. Car is fixed! I found it a wierd coincidence that i started havin all these issues a couple weeks after my coilover install. Sure enough, i didnt even notice how close those wires hung right above the wheels. So a little re-locating and fixed a couple broken wires, sure enough everything is back to normal. Thanks again for all of the help guys!
