I was just wondering if a 93 hb hood would work on an 89 coupe?

Yes. All the USDM S13 front ends are the same.

Front ends is too general of a term.Bumpers are different pignose/round and fenders are different.91+ have the extra holes in them for the bottom plates. Just so some new people don't get confused.

LOL, oops. Didn't think of that... thanks Florida240sx... but yes, the hoods will be interchangable.

When looking at used hoods, make sure to remove the felt liner and look for rust where the skin is bonded to the under-structure. It appears that the gunk they used to glue the two parts together was corrosive. I just bought a 93 that is completely rust free except for the hood and it's badly rusted at every glue spot. This might be an area to consider an aftermarket replacement item. Just a word of caution to be cognizant of shipping costs when buying large items on-line. You'll probably be better off purchasing from a local auto-body supply house.
