This problem happens everyday. when i start to hit boost i start to get a sputter. the more boost = worse sputter. can not get past 3-5psi. 1 time it did get to 7psi. never has done it again. I changed fuel pump and filter/changed injectors. I thought it might be a fuel problem but now im out of ideas. also i run premium gas. when i let the car continue to sputter, eventually it seems to stop fuel (like a govoner would). i think the plugs were changed as well. if they werent then im going to change them. If that does not help problems...any ideas. I was also told that i could be compressor surge. Any ides??? Please help!

a friend of mine had this problem and NOW I HAVE THIS problem. just found out tonight. well check your intercooler couplers. all it takes is a ""small pin hole"" as im told. so i plan on checkin all that tommarow and see f i can get my car to accually run right. i was told to look for a boost leak. like make sure there are no present holes anywhere in the intercooler piping. my friend had to hook his car up on a smoke machine to find his. now i dont know completely 100% if this is your problem, or if its true faq. you could simply have bad gas. but if anyone else knows how to fix this problem let us know! please!

Not a blown turbo...Check all intercooler connections for boost leaks. Buy a voltage meter and test the voltage of your maf. You should get a reading of 12v at your power wire and 5v at the other and then the last is a ground..if the voltage comes out right clean your maf with electronic cleaner from a spray can..also make sure your timing is correct...should be 15degrees btdc but you can always mess around with it because i have friends who's sr's dont run right if set at 15degrees..also check the gaps of your spark plugs and make sure none of the tips are broken..for the more boost you run your gap should be lower..probably no lower than 28..the less boost you run the higer your gap..probably nomore than 32..also check your ecu for codes..if you dont know how to do that just ask..but the problem could also be the ecu itself..however there is a simple test to find out if that is the problem..and another thing..make sure your TPS has a voltage reading of .45volts to .55volts at idle and 4.5volts at W.O.T.

yup, sounds like a boost leak. Simple to fix but sometimes hard to find.
