A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Hi there everyone

my 93 sentra has a rough takeoff, that is worse when it is cold, almost like the feeling of running out of gas backwards, if that makes any sense, lol

the last time we had a tune up, the guy said that is was some kind of timing belt that has broken. but he told my partner, and she wasnt really listening. so does that seem to make sense. or is it likely to be something else/

You have a timing chain, not a belt and if it were broken, the motor wouldnt run at all. So they seem to have fed you a line of BS. Have you check maf, ground, tps voltages, timing and giving the egr a good cleaning. What about the o2 sensor, has it been replaced?

yeah i figured it wasnt the main timing chain, i was trying to imagine what it could of been, maybe a linkade for retarding the istributer or something, what is a maf by the way?
