I recently got my consult cable and all the consult software I could find. I am currently trying to solve a fuel efficiency issue. I get horrendous mileage. I'm talking 200 - 230 KM per tank. (I'm in Canada, that's 124 - 142 Miles)
Upon inspection of the diagnostics information, there is a couple of things that stand out.
First is that the speed wire has been disconnected and the ecu has no idea how fast I'm going.
The other is a little more interesting. At idle, the RPMs read correctly. Then, as I add gas, the RPMs on the ECU start to show much lower then that of the taco. I know the taco is reading correctly, you can easily tell just by listening. However, when I am up at 7,000 on the taco, the ecu is reading 5,600. Its an exponential change as the RPMs get higher. I think this is some kind of mod done to get around the RPM limiter in 4th and 5th. I have no idea if it is related to my fuel efficiency.
Any advice on the issue would be hugely appreciated.
Attached image is a screenshot of the data log. The tac would have been reading about 5000 at this point, throttle wide open. Voltage is read incorrectly by the ecu by about a volt and a half strangely.
