alright, recently I just had my car converted from auto to manual

after driving it around for a bit, it seems that i am having some weird problems. I really dont have any major knowledge about transmissions, but I need to know what is going on so i can tell the ppl who are going to fix it.

Problems:The car will sometimes NOT go into gear easily at all. I will sit in neutral and it refuses to go into first or second or ANY gear.

When I finally FORCE it into gear it has like a spinning grinding sound going on. It sounds like the the gears in the transmission are engaged, but they are still grinding, but not extremely loud, but enough that it cant be normal.

Now this doesnt happen all the time, but enough that its a real problem. Sometimes I push in the clutch and it will go into every gear just fine, but then other times it just does NOT want to engage at all.Its about 50% of the time for each

The other thing (if this helps) if I am riding the car fast and changing gears in higher RPMS, like over 5K or so (like it was doing just fine when it wasw an automatic) then it will NOT let me go into 3rd gear w/out forcing it hard

This CANT be normal

Update:I had this nagging feeling that the car was revving too high and u know how if you are in second or in a higher gear the car wont let you get into 1st gear? well my car is idling at about 2K RPM. So i fixed it up this morning again so it would rev lower, at about 750 RPM like its supposed to and it seems to be engaging fine now, but ive only driven about 5 miles so far and im not completely sure if that is what fixed it since it doesnt happen ALL the time.

Could this really be the problem?

You may be low on hydraulic fluid and/or have air in the system. Also clutch pedal free play may incorrect.

I have a similar, or same problem.

I posted about this a couple of months ago, but i've never gotten a chance to really look into fixing it.

Check out my old post. Nistech said maybe its a bent shift rod or worn rod bushing.

I'm looking into other fixes before i have to resort to tearing into the transmission or replacing it.-Bleeding clutch hydralics and removing clutch dampener-replacing my stock clutch and fly wheel-inspecting clutch pedal
