hey guys im having a bog problem with my ka24de with 5spd transmission. it idles fine but when i give it gas itll bog horribly until it gets to 3,000 rpm then its fine, but when i drive it its jerky as crap and wants to give you whiplash. Ive changed the maf already and didnt help it. I checked the ecu for codes and it threw code 11, and 21, which is the crankshaft position sensor and something with the ecu not getting codes from the ignition properly. Any suggestions? Im still kind of new to the nissan and car scene in general.

that crank sensor will cause all kinds of mishaps. i know.. :facepalm:

Could be timing, CAS, plugs, wires rotor.

Id do plugs, wires, caps and rotor and time it. Then keep gong from there.

Alternator is good?

yea the alt is good. ive advanced the timing a little bit (no timing light tho just dealing with what i dont have) and it helped a little but not much. im going to check the plugs and things tomorrow and report back. and i really dnt have $100+ to spend on a cps.

oh and btw my fuel pump is making a vibrating noise while driving, happens pretty often and will last for a sec or a few min, as well and its recently new.

I had the notorious bogging problem for a year....I replaced everything. turned out to be timing the whole time.

Just replace parts as you can afford it, start with a timing light. most likey the Ignition coil ,and distributor ( there is your codes), then cap ,rotor, plugs ,wires. your fuel pump could be going out if so go with a REAL walbro 255 ( but I would do that last). also if you replace those with no luck it COULD be the ignition transistor chip ( on the coil ) rare but I've heard of it with bogging. besure to test sensors with a volt meter especially the MAF and TPS go ahead and replace the coolant temp sensor ( i hear it can cause bog too)and check for vacuum leaks, etc etc etc

Just follow the EC section of the FSM

Fuel pump is grinding, have you checked pressure?

i havent checked pressure. but the plugs wires cap and rotor is brand new. my maf is good. im going to actually use a light the next time i go to my dads and time it to spec which is 20* and go from there. but it threw code 11 and 21 which is the cas or cps. which is on the dizzy so im going to get a dizzy if the timing doesnt fix it. ive done research on where the cap is supposed to be set and its correct and i have the dizzy set to a little to the right of halfway.

I changed the distributor last night. the guy i got it from i know personally so i know he was being honest. anyway it didnt help at all. its even timed at 20* btdc. like i said i also got code 21 which is Ignition signal in the primary circuit is not being entered to the ECU during cranking or tuning. wat should i try next?

o btw guys, it was my fuel pump. at idle it had 20psi and went down as i gave it throttle. got a walbro 255 and it runs like a champ.

Wow, I had a code 21 when I forgot to plug in my ign. coil. but I've never heard of that code coming up when the fuel pump quit. good job.

thanks lol it had 20 psi of fuel pressure at idle.
