Im changing my stock 15" oem s13 rims to 17" 03' sentra spec v 5 spoke rims. I have read up alittle on the forums that these wheels have a bad offset for the s13, wondering if someone could give me a hand in picking a size of spacers (if i need them) and a tire size.the car is completly stock, and both front and rear wheels will be 17"x7

i checked from a offset calculator what i have from my stock wheel to the new wheel and it says:

Inner Clearance:20mm LESS (the inside of the wheel to the strut housing)

Outer Position:EXTEND am extra 6mm (position of the outside edge of the wheel)

this is what its saying i have with the new wheels on 17x7 with a 47+ offset

what does this mean though im new to wheels haha

I hope you haven't paid money for those wheels yet, because they are epic fail. Buy wheels that fit. Don't buy wheels knowing they'll need spacers.

Try to find something around 17x9+25 or better. Then you won't need spacers...

If you have already bought the wheels, sell them and use the money towards wheels that fit better and are not battleship sunken...

wheels are already bought, all stock s13 wheels are sunken anyways, so i dont see a huge deal, i dont like the look of aftermarket anything, i think the s13 off the assembely line is just fine. (body/style wise) i just wanted a bit bigger wheels and the spec v wheels are great, and i figured since im at it might as well bring the wheels out to the fender lines. just dont know what size spacers i need. (this is a daily driver not a track car)

Don't try that sh*tty excuse with me! lol There's a whole host of Nissan OEM wheels that would fit better than the ones you settled on. For example:

zer...age=1

Now you are going to need 30mm bolt on spacers all around in an attempt to cover up your fail. Anything less will be a huge hassle to mount on. Way to add at least $100 to your budget.

LOL hey man go easy on the new guy ha.

to the op those wheels will look sunken but if you dont mind invest in some lowering springs to get rid of the ugly wheel gap and make it look nicer. id go with a 50 series tire or up if you choose to say no on the springs.

haha yeah go easy on me, all the wheels you posted are 5 bolt, wouldnt it cost more to convert?again this is a daily driver and yes i am the 'new guy' i have no tire/wheel selection experience.

so the deal is done, wheels bought, obviously i should of consulted one of you guys first, but i like the look of the wheel. will it be that difficult to make them fit? im looking for a 3inch gap from wheel to fender (im guessing that will take coil overs to drop the ride 1.5 or 2"?Also i had 195/60/r15 originally on the car and a tire calculator is saying with the new wheels i will need a 225/40/r17.Also is there an issue with putting 215/40/r17 in the front and 235/40/r17 in the rear? or is this common on 240s

My bad... I was just in a bad mood cuz I got some kinda tender bump on my junk and I dunno what it is...

I believe the 215/40/17 would be best for a wheel of that size. No need to stagger unless you're making alot of power. Plus with 215/40/17 all around can still rotate your tires...

Another reason I flew off the handle is that I remember making the same mistake buying super-sunken wheels (17x7+42 with 215/40/17) b4 I found NICO. Even though I threw on 30mm spacers all around, I still hated them for years once I found out what 'good fitment' really is. Eventually I found a sucker to trade me a PS3 for them. My current wheels are much better, but still not the ideal fitment I want.

So now I believe it is best just to do it right the first time. This way saves money, time & effort. And later on down the road you won't have to deal with being extremely dissatisfied with your wheels and have to deal with the hassle of utrading/upgrading yet again.

Now, I make NO important car buys without searching NICO first...
