The Q45 was ran hot. The result is steam coming out of the tail pipe. Change oil and filter their was water in oil. What happens to this engine if ran hot? What is the fix for this?

Thanks for any help!

Sorry Larry, it sounds pretty terminal. Sounds like a bad head gasket. No cheap fix, either replace the head gasket, or replace the engine with a used one. The latter is almost always the best choice.

Thanks for the help. I started the car and drove it for about 30 miles. The engine sound like a diesel engine. I am going to take the valve cover off and see if any oil is getting to the cam.

Oil is getting there, but so is coolant. Coolant makes a poor lubricant.

I'm going to second the "swap the entire engine" if you love the car. It won't be cheap. If you ran the car that hot every rubber/plastic doodad and sesnor has been compromised in one way or another.
