93 Pathfinder climate control problem

I have a 93 Pathfinder and the vent control lights will come on when you start it, after a few minutes the lights go out and you are unable to change vent settings like defrost to floor but can change fan speeds. Any suggestionsMike

Before the lights go out, can you change the settings?

Yes, works fine for a little while then just goes out and what ever the last setting was stays.Mike
