93 nissan sentra XE..brand new battery is draining

Hi

i have a 93 sentra xe with 125K miles. last week i got both 'brake + battery' ligts on. after i started engine it went away in a minute or two.

i replaced alternator on this 5 years ago. i took it to autozone got it checked. he said its almost dying and that guy said with all the corrosion (powder like thing)/grease on those terminals, he said better to get new one. i didn't start it from sat'day evening to monday morning. on monday morning battery is completely drained.

what could be wrong? pl advise. is it something that i can try to check and fix.

something was still using power w/ the car off obviously...u didn't leave a dome light on or something did ya?

Dead alternator? He did say it was dying, so maybe it finally gave out. Could also be your battery out of juice.

last time when alternator went bed, it didn't give me any indication. it just wouldn't start then. this time atleast those 'brake + battery' were on together. so i am thinking this is not alternator problem.

Gotta be something on while the car is off. Maybe a short somewhere in the harness intermittently connecting and drawing power.

Also check and make sure the battery tray is under the battery. That can lead to a parasitic drain.

Did you find out what was draining your battery? I'm seeing the same issue in a 95 Infiniti G20.
Battery and alternator tested good. But once the car sits overnite, the battery is drained.
