Hey,

Well i love my 240 first of all. When i first got the car it idled at like 1650 all times but its been about 3 weeks or a month so since i've owned it and a miss got in the engine. Now let me explain, i noticed my distributor cap was a little messed up but when the "miss" problem in the engine started on a raining day and i mean pouring down rain and i started it up and it idled at like 1050 or less and when i have it in first gear and go to take off my shifter shakes really bad but as the day settled like after i got off work and the rain kinda quit, it didnt have the "miss" that bad but it still idled at 1100 or less .. but it did raise to 1300 after i drove for like 20 minutes. But i really hope this is not a problem i love this car .. I dont know if the timing is off or what, but help please?? 240<3

you probably have water in your distributor, you need to dry it out. some electrical parts cleaner should help dry it out. then do a basic tune up (plugs-wires-cap-rotor) get NGK plugs it will love them. check and reset your base idle. check and adjust your ignition timing. your car shouldent idle so high, should be more like 750rpms. get a copy of the FSM you can find it on this site just search for it. good luck with your new 240.
