93 Max ECU Problem.

Hi,

I have a 1993 Nissan Maxima and somehow the previous owner shorted out the ECU. Its not working right.

My question is, can i go the the junk yard and get any 93 maxima ECU with my same engine and use that ECU?

Or do I haft to find the same ECU that has the SAME serial numbers that my car came with for my car to run right?

i would have to say same everything your car has transmission motor and yes serial number is a big deal really just that same part number on it etc. the program that is on it is really the only way to get it right and you have to have a consult for that

I believe your car has either the VG30E or VG30DE engine(s). As long as you have an ECU from your cars engine with your same transmission type, you'll be fine. (ECU=Engine Control Unit)
