93 ka24de timing (did search 1st)

hello everyone, i have tried searching for this. wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.is there a step by step article on just setting stock timing for a ka24de (i did study the timing chain rattle post,very awesome) i only seem to find how to advance timing post, my problem is i fail hc and want to start with timing and then work my way from ther.thank you for taking the time to read any info would be great! , adhdalso do i need to use a timing light?
