(Wasn't sure if I should put this in this section or the KA24E / KA24DE Forum)

First I would like to say hello to everyone here, and that I am not proud that one of my first posts here happens to be a question, as normally I am the one informing on the message boards I frequent.

But nonetheless I have an issue and I'm seeking your/anyone's help who has more knowledge on this than me.

Anyway, while my motor is apart and I'm waiting on my gaskets to get here, I'm thinking it might be easier or less of a headache to remove any emissions related garbage that clutters up the engine bay and isn't necessarily needed rather than try to remember/figure out how it all goes back together. My goal is to "tidy" up the engine bay without causing the car to run like s***.

I've read several tutorials/guides out there while researching these modifications but I still had a couple questions that hopefully could be addressed here.

I know the EGR can be removed. I pretty much understand what I need to do there.

A lot of parts are removed for cleaning/repainting while we waited for the head to be resurfaced but here's what the engine bay looks like as of now...

And the brake booster is currently connected to nothing... as you see here...

I'm probably going to sound/look like a complete no0b but my question is what to do with these parts...

This piece is one thing I hope I can just throw away because of the 300 fugging wires it had attached to it that all needed to be removed and cleaned.

If I remember correctly it's somewhat related or connected to this clusterf**k right here...

Next is this: (I'm not sure from the removal guides if it's part of what needs to go or not... I'm sure the FSM will explain what hoses connect to it if and when we go to hook it back up.

I traced the hose back down into the frame...

Now I read about removing the butterfly system but does that mean I can do away with this...?

And as for the coolant on the IM you can see where I marked in red the hose the original owner had blocked off already... the question is... what to do from there? Do I get rid of/block off the parts in blue entirely?

Now for the AAC Valve...

Keep or remove and block off?

More pictures of any part can be taken, I just need to know what.

If anyone can point me in the right direction or lend some advice I would greatly appreciate it.

If this has already been answered/covered entirely, I'm sorry and please link me to the right discussion as I can not find one that covers this exact question.

If I'm posting this in the wrong section, feel free to move, lock, or delete if necessary.

Thanks in advance!

...it really sounds like you're in over your head there man, need to take it easy/be careful/research a lot.

The canister is for gasoline vapor and it can be eliminated you just need to do something with the line from the gas tank so that it release the vapor in a safe place where it won't combust.

In terms of the AAC you need to keep it for the car to run well as a daily.

The coolant stuff, no, your temp sensor etc. needs to be kept...and I think those other hoses are needed too although i don't remember that one that's blocked.

But really though, you need and FSM or Chilton's or maybe even a mechanic. It looks like you dove into stuff that is beyond you and you have a big chance at really screwing things up in this situation.

Sorry for the late update but we ended up getting everything figured out. Car runs smoothly now. (besides the automatic transmission. =(

Anyone wanna donate parts for the swap? lol
