I have a 93 240sx with a KA24DE. I used to have an overheating problem but I replaced the Radiator cap, then the Thermistat, and finally the water pump. After I replaced the water pump it stoped overheating but now when i park i notice that my coolant boils and shoots out the overflow tube. The water tempt. gauge shows it at half way. And now if i dont turn on the heater in the car it will overheat. Whats my problem. what do i need to fix to stop my car from leaking coolant everywhere, also it so hot in my car i would like to not need to keep the heat on all the time.

did you bleed out all the air bubbles? when the car is cold, remove the radiator cap and start your engine. let the car run with the heater on full blast, and wait for it the engine to warm up. watch the radiator fill hole for air bubbles. once the heater is super hot and the bubbles stop, cap the radiator.

I know that on my ka24e there is a bleeder bolt that you must remove to bleed everytime you put fluid in. I'm not sure if you have the same, but it is worth looking into. I wasted a lot of money because i wasn't hip to that info. Now i know. And knowing is half the battle. G I JOE !!!

Yeah. The air relief valve.

its in the housing for the upper radiator hose. Its a 10mm bolt with a washer on it.

its on the DE as well.

The proper way to change the coolant is to jack up the front of the car, so the radiator is above the engine somewhat.

Drain the engine block via the drain bolt, and the radiator via its drain bolt.

Then open the air relief valve, and turn the heater selector over to hot all the wayer (this opens the heater core to allow water to go through it) fill the radiator untill water comes out of the air relief valve, then drop the car.

Then start the car and race it two or three times under no load. Then fill up the reservoir and top off the radiator.

Let it warm up and then top off the coolant reservoir as necessary.

Then close the air relief valve.

Yes sir! That's the one! I wasn't sure if it was on the ka24de as well.
