93 j30 transmission question

whats up? new member, Nick Steeves all the way from Halifax Nova Scotia Canada. anwyays, i just bought my 93 J30, about 90K miles.

heres the problem:

so im in Drive, i rev up (past 4000) to get past someone on the highway. once im past them if i step on er again the engine just revs, with no go. the feeling it reminds me off is when i used to drive my firt bike as a kid and i would be in to high of gear and the engine would rev with no power going through.

if anyone can figure out what i mean, and better yet, how to fix it that would be dandy. the problem doesnt occur in 1, 2 or 3m which leads me to believe the transmission is mis-****ting and wont downshift qucikc enough.

As for your problem, sounds very much like you need a new transmission revolution sensor.
