I had my trans rebuilt about a year back, was running smooth as butter for a while, then I drove through a big puddle, and the trans started shifting super rough. I changed the trans fluid per Q45Techs way of doing it. And the next day the car was shifting smooth again. Then it happened again a few weeks later, I didnt change the fluid this time, because the level was normal and as far as I could tell there was no water in there, same thing next day the car is fine.

Now two days ago, same thing happens, drive through some water, trans rough shifts, only this time when coming to a stop it felt like the torque converter locked up and the car would start to die(kinda like coming to a stop in a manual while still in gear). I let the car sit overnight and that problem went away however the car still shifts rough and the AT light is blinking.

Any suggestions? Is there any way to check the transmission codes without a scanner?

Bottom engine cover off ??Sounds like a connector to the transmission is getting shorted out.

Man, the car had no lower engine cover when I bought it. Been trying to find one for the last 4 years.

Anyway, hair dryer would work you think? Where is the connector exactly?

The transmission has a solenoid that is somewhat exposed (especially if the box cracks). You may have got water on it. I will try to dig you up a pic or schematic.
