After talking with my newly found friends at NICO, I am saving thousands of dollars on parts for my '93 J30T. Others should listen to their wisdom. I ordered replacement cartridges for my front struts and rear struts to solve my "dipping" problem. Surprisely, I had a local Infiniti Dealer's lead tech tell me that they did not make replacement cartidges for the front struts, even though the dealership's Parts Mgr. had a pair in stock???? After finding my local mechanic to do the change out with parts I have ordered everything from Joe at Infiniti of Scottsdale. I need any suggestions, websites, or manuals that I can give to my tech to help in the process of changing the struts and installing a new timing belt, tensioner, water pump, belts, etc. on my J30T.

Thanks for your help...I have told two other Infiniti owners in the Boston area about the site. It's GREAT.

Car: should be obvious enough

the mini service manual that should have come with your car shows exactly what needs to be done.

if you dont have one, get one off ebay:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=6762

some times they also have the actual hard copies on there.

for the timing belt you could also just use:http://300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi

-from a 300zx but its all the same

You already saved a fortune by just going to Joe instead of your local dealer who would have robbed ya.If your mechanic has replaced struts before the J30 should be no problem even though the insert thing on the fronts is kind of weird, but self explanatory. Just make sure you get those bump stops on. I don't have my manual with me, but torque specs would be important during reinstall of the new struts. I believe there's 5 bolts up front (3 in the strut tower) and 4 in the rear (again, 3 in tower). Then there's the bolt on each piston, again important to have right torque.

That's a good website Eswift, I haven't seen that yet. Here's another writeup on timing belts...(PITA)http://www.ttzd.com/tech/timingbelttech.html
