i just put in a used engine and transmission and the car starts right up i can put it in drive but when in reverse it revs up like neutral, ive ran into a few electrical bugs in the car (the signal for the fuel pump relay doesnt send power to the pump, the relay is new, so i bypassed the relay just to see if the car starts and it did, but no reverse. can this be something electric? or a bad transmission?

thanx

With no maintenance history, who can tell?

What is the color of the fluid? Does it drive normally otherwise? All connections verified?

89k can be good and useful life on a J30 [R01R03A] transmission due to the gumming up of the in radiater heat exchanger [common] and fluid starvation. Problem often show up as no reverse.........find another transmission.

We had a customer buy a junk yard transmission and pay us for install........he went back 3 times for replacements [and paid us install and removal 4 times] until he finally got a functioning unit. Then 2 months later he came back and we installed a new reman from Nissan for $2,800.

Rehabing a car that has sat for 3 years is always interesting.
