93 infiniti j30 cruise control fix

Purchased a 93 infiniti j30 for 2k only 100k, Very Happy person. Engine seems to run smoothe and I want to really tinker to make sure I get another 100K. I need thoughts on fixing the cruise control that does not work. Fyi the light on dash comes on. I will have other questions and have diagnosed some other problems I fixed and proud I can do on my own let me know.

Start with the switch. Mine had stopped working awhile ago. I switched out the switch (it pops out) and it started to work again.

I figured as much but thought I put it out there, I have already pulled off that part of the dash as I was working with dimmer switch which I need probably replace as well. Thanks

If the light comes on one would think the switch is working ?Have you checked the cruise control throttle cable ?Its the one that has some slack in it up at the throttle end. (Front of engine)
