93 infinit q45 pw/pl/sunroof problems

HELLO EVERYONE. IM NEW TO THIS SITE. I JUST BOUGHT A 93 INF.Q45 THAT WAS IN A POLICE SEIZURE AND SEARCH. THE CAR HAS ONLY 96,000 MILES AND HAS GREAT BODY AND GOOD INTERIOR. BUT I AM HAVING SOME ISSUES THAT I CANT FIGURE OUT. THE ONLY WINDOW THAT WORKS IS THE DRIVER FRONT. THE OTHER ONES YOU CAN HEAR A HUMMING SOUND WHEN YOU OPERATE EACH DOORS SWITCH, BUT YOU HEAR NOTHING WHEN YOU OPERATE FROM MAIN CONSOLE. I HAVE NO POWER LOCKS. THE SUNROOF YOU CAN HEAR THE MOTOR RUN BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. WHICH THAT COULD BE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PROBLEM. I HAVE CHECKED ALL FUSES AND THEY ARE GOOD. IM NOT FAMILIAR ENOUGH WITH THE INFINITI TO KNOW WHERE TO START. I BELIEVE THERE IS A CENTRAL PROBLEM FOR ALL THESE ISSUES. ANY AND ALL HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

I don't think your problem is centralized - these are all separate systems on the early Q45. The sunroof issuse sounds like the clutch is slipping - or perhaps broken cables. Can you get it to move by gently pushing it while pressing the switch?

Not sure on the locks and power windows. I suppose it's possible the switches are just unplugged? You can pop the power window switch cluster up from the rear edge (closest to the arm rest) with a putty knife or flat blade screwdriver to check.

Your car came with a copy of the factory service manual in the trunk or pocket between the rear speakers... is it still there?

I have checked the plug in on the doors and under the cover by shifter. Everything that i have checked is attached. if you go to each individual door and move window switch you can hear humming sound but is coming from circuit board in door not the motor. And no unfortunately there is no manual left in car

The factory service manual for the 1994+ model is available at http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/ but I suspect that all of this will differ a great deal due to the change-over to a LAN (local area network) based system, rather than directly wiring things up like they did prior to that year.

Finding a '93 manual on ebay might be your best bet. 90-93 should all get you pretty close...

If the switches weren't working you wouldn't hear what is probably the window motors trying to work. If you're hearing humming when you operate the window switches it sounds like the window is bound up because of broken window regulators, possibly in all 3 doors. Take the door panel off one door and remove the regulator. The link below should help.

You have the link to the 94 FSM which will be exactly the same for window regulator R&R. There's no electronic copy available for the 90-93. If you want a hard copy of the "bible" here's one for sale from a 91. It will be 99.9% the same as your 93Q.
