93 hb sev6 4x4 white smoke black plugs tick

picked this truck up off the side of the road. $300. white smoke out the pipe. compresssion ok, runs ok, slight ticking, possibly valve? no fluids i can see in cyls, drained coolant, replaced plugs, ran it wo coolant. 135 plugs are black, 246 ok, still white smoke without coolant, would a bad valve explain the knock and black plugs?

before i tear anything down i thought i would ask nissan guys, im a body man i can pound and paint but motors are not really my specialty.

well i removed the rad and fan starting to teear it down then someone stopped over and wanted to hear it run, but without coolant i was wondering why it would still smoke so much.

also i put vacuum on it and it wouldnt hold, 25psi-0 in about 30 minutes

ticking could be lifters. White smoke is a rich condition. Are the plugs coming out wet too? The injectors could be bad on that bank, dumping fuel into the cylinders.

Check the oil too and look for water beading on the dispstick. It could be a bad head gasket too letting water into the cylinders. That would cause the white smoke, even with residual water left in the block.

its been a few days but..

i decided to remove the head and bring it to my motor guy except somethings holding the head on. i removed the 13 head bolts and the 10mm in the back and the head does move, but it feels like something on the driver side/inside is holding it on. the outter side will come up partially without much effort. it feels like theres a bolt or ssomething of that sort in there.

its the passanger side head btw.

so before i get crazy and chip nick or crack the head i thought maybe i missed somethingthanks
