I recently bought a 93 d21 hardbody. I was looking at getting a 2" lift for it. As i was reading the lift details it said recommended tire size is 31/10.50. I am currently running 31's. Is it possible that there is already a lift on the truck or do 31's fit on stock?

Power package D21's had 31x10.50 tires without lifts.

So would a 2" lift really do much or should i just leave it stock?

Depends on what you want. If you do go with a suspension lift, you'll want to upgrade the steering with either a Calmini kit or at least a modified centerlink. That'll add to the cost. If you don't need the extra clearance under the frame, leave it stock. It'll get better gas mileage that way.
