'93 Exhaust Cam into a '95...is this OK???

Out of desperation to finish this weekend (and because I'm a cheap SOB!) I grabbed a '93 240SX Exhaust Cam from a salvage yard (miles unknown..speedo was gone) that I intend to install into a '95 240SX SE.

My exhaust cam had lost most of that "ridge" on the front that keeps the gear centered. So after almost a complete rebuild (or so it seemed) to remove front cover and oil pan to collect the little pieces, I'm about to install the cam, but want to make sure all will be OK.

Was there any difference in these years? If so, any drivability problems I should expect to encounter?

Also, the tightening sequence for the cam bearing caps seems weird to me, but both the Haynes and some Service Manual I found online agree...is this the correct sequence for TIGHTENING?

<==Front1 - 5 - 9 - 11 - 7 - 32 - 6 - 10 - 12 - 8 - 4

I would think to start in the center and work outwards (like the head)

Thanks for the input.

Dr.

If you get another exhaust cam from another 91-93 240sx, you may notice a slight increase in your overall power. But you will have to machine the dowl pin off it to make it fit in the intake side.

The lobes are slightly bigger from those years. (a good thing)

Thanks for the confirmation/clarifications...

Man, Haynes really needs to hire some proof-readers...there's some really misleading/confusing info in those books (all makes/models). A Torque sequence is VERY important. Maybe because it's only to approx. 9lb-ft in this case, it's not a BIG deal, but I'm going to redo them the CORRECT way, just in case!
