Can someone tell me if the 93 240 has a separate ECU for the auto trans? my transmission is acting up and it needs to replaced. Can someone can tell me where it is and where I can get a used one? thanks!

Yes it is seperate and it is near the ECM. However before you run out and pick up a new one take a look at the 240 vert forum on the 94 with an auto trans problem. See if you problem falls under that failure.

Thanks, I looked at those posts and it could be similar. THe only symptom I have is when it's rainy or humid out when i start the car and put it in D, the transmission will start out in 2nd gear and not up shift. as soon as I turn the ignition key off and back on again, it's fine, even if I am rolling in neutral when I do this. It seems that by turning the key off, something resets and clears the problem and I dont know what is resetting. ever heard of this before?

Yea that is a good indicattion of a poor connection somewhere. If the TCM sees a failure it will go into failsafe and remain there till the key is cycled. Start checking grounds for good continuity to the chassis. Look for any corrosion build up on them. Also take a look at the electrical connectors for the shift control of the trans. They are very near the rev sensor connector mentioned in the 94 trans thread.

I will do just that. I thought it would be something outside the chassis since the weather or water only seemed to affect it. I will check the post again for location and will repost what I find. Thanks again!
