I have searched countless hours looking for an answer but have come up empty I want to bump up the compression on my truck motor sohc not dohc stock motor ka24e this motor runs 8.6:1 compression and I want to know since these pistons are used in dohc engine can I use them I want a stronger more responsive truch with out turbos or head swaps intake swaps or ecu upgrades no port polish or headers. I just want to bump up the compression to 9.5:1 around it should bring this engine to life and nor need re tuning . I am trying to find this answer befor I buy my rebuild kit Pistons .30 crank .10/.10 head .10 block .10 deck

Been there done that on a Yota pickup. I used custom made 9:1 Pistons, oversized valves,........One major issue is going to be the ECU. Before you get started give some thought and do some research on how you are going to modify the ECU. Another problem the ECU will prevent the engine from idling properly. The bottom line when completed you are not going to gain a lot of HP. You didn't mention -2wd or 4x4 ? Rather than messing with the engine I would focus more on modifying the differential ratio and changing to a smaller tire size. You can also do some research on installing a cam degree kit. Less invasive and they are adjustable to obtain max. Hp.without any ECU modification.

As long as you are doing research you might look up company's that do performance tuning on ECU units. You send them in and they custom tune them. Never had this done might be a waste of money maybe someone can chime in that is more knowledge or has done this in the past. Another idea - The next time you are at the drug store pickup some over the counter sleep aid pills so you don't lay in bed thinking about doing this.

I'm asking if these Pistons will work in this application every one puts them under a different head and they work. Will the 1987 9.1:1 Pistons work in a 93 ka24e sohc truck motor without Clarence issues in between the valves and Pistons.

Try contacting - Ross Racing Pistons - Tech Line - 310-536-0100 I put 9:1 Pistons in a Yota with no issues, not sure about Nissan. I also had oversized valves & a mild cam.

I feel your frustration. The consumer means little or nothing. It's all about the almighty dollar and cheap labor. Now a day when you order parts in the Pm hrs. You are dealing with someone over the pond. It's getting bad when you call a company and you have to select a number to speak to someone in English. Sorry I was no help. Good luck

Strange that Nissan would have dropped the compression that much from Z-24 to KA24. I would have thought they had added a knock sensor by then. IIRC the pistons in my 86 D-21 ware flat-topped with small cuts for valve relief.
