93 D21 needs new motor...

what years are ok to swap? a buddy has a 93 fed KA24E 4x2.

are the cali motors just some extra sensors(EGR temp?) and hardware that can be swapped out from the old motor?

also im seeing on someof the junk yard searches, the newer mid 93+ KA's are a little different from the older one? all are SOHC, again, is it just a matter for swapping over sensors and/or hardware?

I'm a novice when it comes to working on d21's. i've worked on mainly Z32s and S13s, so any info will help. i know how to turn a wrench, i just need to know what and how are these motors different b4 we get a wrong one.

Not dead sure on this, but I think that motor was used from '91-'97. There may be some wiring differences, but you should be able to swap over stuff from your motor on to the donor.

The long block can be used on 90-97 D21 trucks.90-97 4X4's need to have the pan and pickups swapped.96-97 timing covers are also different.They need to be swapped over as well.
