93 D-21 4x4 steering problem

Hello! I have a 93 D-21 4x4. I have just completed a front suspension lift 2" R/C, and all joints and center link replacements. The problem I am having is that the steering is really tight in the centered position. When I turn the wheel 1 turn it frees up and continues it's turning range with no resistance. Is it possible I may have damaged the steering gear while removing the pitman arm without the proper puller?
