so i don't ever think i posted up a "build" thread on here since i got my coupe. but uh, bought it last november as a birthday present to myself/ was a damn good deal since i was looking for a new shell. it's probably easier to list whats not been replaced/original to the chassis.

this is what th ecar started out like WAY back when

when kelly owned it

however, this is how i got it. then first things first; i tore the car down to the bare chassis. the peeling black spray paint in the engine bay had to go, so i broke out the gun and splashed some silver in there. and for s***s and giggles i had some grabber orange hanging around from god knows when. and undercoated the body.

scored 2 n62 mafs, entire rear subframe, ebrake cables, and front brakes from a 90' 300 2+2 for 150 bucks. rebuilt and powder coated the 26mm alum. brakes. the rear end was in phenomenal condition so i stripped/cleaned/painted the case and swapped the rear cover with a new gasket and some mobil 1 gear oil. also grabbed some s14 front hubs & flca's for free.

lets see....oh then i traded some sportline springs for a set of se s14 wheels with some damn nice tires on them, and my fellow 240 enthusiast brought his 240 by and we swapped out his coilovers. stance for kts. for s***s and giggles, we threw them in mine and slam it for fun. but then i had to turn it around to put the new motor in.

speaking of the engine it's a 96', cluster had 38,773kms on it with the motor set when my buddy got it. was dirty as hell but then i cleaned the crap out of it and damn if it didn't turn out pretty. did seals, gaskets, new copper exhaust gasket, turbo lines, repainted the accessory brackets, new s14 oil pick up, all of the sensors were replaced, GReddy oil pan, fidanza flywheel, exedy stage 2, nismo pilot bearing, GReddy RAS, cusco motor mounts, new fuel rail, probably some more stuff; the typical maintenance, ya know.

then i hooked up everything, got my harness back(was beyond saving but matt saved it) driving by the road and saw a road sign..so i grabbed it and threw it in the car for a pretty baller skid plate. had a pretty good night at work so i was making a grounding kit, threw a meter on everything to make sure it was good to go and fired up the car.

next day i ran up to my buddy's shop in Raleigh and got a new 17/16 BMC, megan adj. links, and a set of stoptech rotors. came back and got to work on my spare subframe with the new version SPL bushings for both subframe and rear end.

ok so next, i tackled the interior. i tore it all out and put it back together. i've been having some problems with my fuel pump not priming, ignition was always getting power so all the electronics were able to function even with the key out of the ignition. i felt the headlight wiring was a jumbled mess and soo redundant it needed to be redone; also needed to add a 3rd brake light so it'll be "legal". then i wired up the gauges, ebc, TT timer, fan controller, kill switch, etc etc. don't mind the hols in the dash, i was experimenting on the cracked one; i've yet to track down a clean HUD dash.

sooooooooooo, that's just about it so far. just a bit of trouble shooting and a couple more parts before its fully drivable. guess while i'm at it, i'll go ahead and tuck up the harness, possibly tuck the relay boxes back behind the glove compartment. school just started up sooooooooo; school, girlfriend, work all come first. oh yeah, the girlfriend is into nissans; shes been looking for a 240 lately

haha, definitely not mine; that's belongs kelly's dad. rocking an rb25det as well.

yeah i've gotten a TON of deals while i've been building this one. i think i'll actually break even when the day comes to sell it. unfortunately it'll probably be my last 240. i've really gotten into classic japanese cars lately. had a chance to buy a pretty mint Z10 Soarer a month or 2 ago; but i passed since it was an automatic OHC 2.0 6cyl.

k so i didn't get as far as i wanted tonight; no heat in the garage. so i got the engine bay harness out at least, pulled the a/c, and blower units. tomorrow i'll strip the "new" harness and begin to clean/re wrap it so that i can tuck it and have only the wires i need to make their way up front. looks better already.

the small computer is the cruise control brain, the computer to the left is the autotragic ecu..correct?

well..its been a while, and i've finished everything up. the cars back together and it runs even better than before. all of my electrical gremlins are gone. i've also made some pretty drastic life decisions since i last posted. i leave in 28 days for basic....oh and i'm getting married in february when i get back, sooooo good stuff.

i stripped down the front chassis harness and started pulling out my horn and light/turn signal wiring.

then i mounted everything inside, and put the relay/fuse boxes up behind the glove box, then i pulled the ignitor chip into the cabin and mounted it. also had to modify my glove box. i trimmed the pass. side kick panel because i relocated the power distribution block under the ECU and modified the transmission harness to feed inside the cabin as well, also removing the alternator power wire and creating a new one external from the harness

turned her over and whalla.everything works. also fabbed up a gauge panel on the water jet at a friend's work since it seems all the ones that other people sell fit terribly. then i powder coated it black and painted my center console trim, ashtray lid, and shifter trim with trim paint because it stands up way better than regular rattle can paint and its better than faded, scratched, black plastic

annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd thats it until february. i'm selling/giving away most of my spare parts and i'm towing the car and all my cap to a storage unit for the time being.

appreciate it. just simple though. new carpet(fits like s***) clean s14 leather seats. i have a rather large roll of tan leather i've yet to put to use. plan on doing the engine interior when i get back. but here is a new video...it runs better than before; waste gate is adjusted very loosely so it doesn't make boost
