i have had problems all summer long. i replaced a new starter with another one. what is happening is i do not get it to start in park. i then put it in neutral and it may start. Sometimes jockeying in between park and neutral will get it to work. i may be stuck where i am for 2 day like i am right now.

i have no idea where and what the neutral safety switch looks like and if this is it. is it safe to assume that the starter is ok as it does start from time to time?

i am retired and poor not retired and rich so i cannot to be fleeced by repair shops. So i am asking anyone in the forum who has had this problem with their d21 4by4 automatics.

thanks nakona1

Be careful when buying parts. A neutral safety switch is typically what it's called when you have a manual trans. With an automatic, they call it an "inhibitor" switch.
