Post

Hello all,I have a 1993 nissan 300zx non turbo, and I started to have a misfire recently and when i diagnosed it, I found out that there is a bad injector on the passenger side, the one closest to the firewall, anyway, I know that you have to remove all of the rubber lines that go to the intake manifold as well as the throttle linkage in order to remove the intake manifold. My problem is that I have removed all of the bolts toward the center of the intake manifold and when I try to pop it off in order to access the injector it doesnt budge, but instead moves the whole engine. Are there some bolts or nuts that I am missing or what? PLEASE help!!!

Yes there are brakets on either side of the intake that are bolted to the head. about half way back and down low are 2 12mm bolts going into the side of the plentium. Also the EGR tubes on eithr side coming up from the bottom have 2 10mm bolts. There is a tube on either side of the plentium. Additionally near the brake booster coming off the plentium there is a small coolant hose you need to disconntect before you pull it up.And a PCV hose on either side again near the bottom of the intake your taking off. You need to slide the clamps on the PCV hoses back at the furthest point forward on the PCV hoses. There are a few other components under neath you need to pay special attention to when going back together like the vaccum hose on the passenger side under the plentium. If you dont hook that back up you will have a rough idle. If I think of any more I will post.

BTW what your calling the intake manifold is actually called the plentium. Once you have that off you will see the actual intake manifold.
