So, I'm having the weirdest problem and I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.

I tried putting the hood on the car without bolting it to the connecting brackets, and everything fits great. So, I bolt it on, and the drivers side part of the hood sticks up (the brackets are fine and that part passes through the hole in the bracket fine). Everything seems to be lined up the same way as without any bolts. Also, when I leave the bolts on the drivers side off, it seems to fit perfectly as well. Just when the bolts on the drivers side bracket are on, it doesn't fit. I have looked at everything around the bracket and bolts (which seems to be the problem), but nothing seems wrong.

It seems more like the middle section of the hood is holding it up some how... I just don't understand how/what is holding it up. The passenger side still goes down all the way and seems fine....

is it the original hood? ... my friend has a 2+2 and got a regular ole N/A hood and it doesn't fit right ... there's a noticable gap ... so he later found out that the hoods are different size on different years or models or somethin like that? ... anyways if its the same hood then this is meaningless ... goodluck tho, i'm havin' the same problem with my 240's hood

shouldn't give him a problem, the hoods are the same on the Z32's with the exception of the TT hood being aluminum.

the misalignment of the hood could be an issue with the rubber stoppers, have you adjusted them? I can't imagine why you'd have fitment problems with a stock hood unless it or your car has encountered some damage at some point.

yup, your right, the car was in an accident and I'm fixing it up right now. The only reason I actually bought this car to fix up is because the interior and everything else is mint!

But I got the hood to fit by loosening the brackets to the body and the bolts from the bracket to the hood. It fit and I just tightened them down while the hood was down.

That was pretty much the last part of the repair work.

Check it out.

yup, check it out here:

Still a few problems, fan/clutch for the radiator needs replacing (on order).

The passenger side front wheel is bent a little bit. Can't figure out exactly what part of the suspension is bent, even brought it to a shop and they couldn't see what was bent exactly. So, I might have to end up replacing parts here and there.

If anyone has a clue, the passenger front wheel has negative camber and I'm not too smart about suspensions, but the alignment guy said on the 300zx there isn't a way to change camber. Also, it is very hard to turn the steering wheel right now, probably because something is bent on the steering rack? or something with power steering?

I wanted to keep this 300zx as near stock as possible, but I guess upgrading to while repairing wouldn't be too bad. Any ideas for any parts? I've been looking online for some replacement parts and how to fix certain problems.
