93 240sx Trans Problems

I bought a nice 240sx ran good didnt have problems with it for a while. I was happy boy =D with a ricer then terrible day happened. I was leave a place but it in reverse backed up then put it in drive but needed to reverse more so I put it in reverse. It went foward? So i was like wtf..... The car only has 1st and 2nd Gear now wont go into 3rd gear Iv even tryed to get it past 5.5k Rpms to see if it might shift and nothing happened. I found out that the car was in a flood before though and had water damage. Anyone have anything that might be wrong with this car besides the transmission plz tell Thanks in Advance.

Is the shifter itself stuck? try getting a buddy to see if reverse lights come up when u try to put the car in reverse. If the shifter is stuck, try putting the car in reverse then turning it on, keeping your foot on the clutch the whole time. from here see if it works going into reverse a lil bit or for that matter is it hard to get out of reverse with the car on? My car had transmission problems for a while
