Wondering if anyone knows if this code means there is a problem with the EGR valve...(stuck open?) Anyhow the car starts up and idles strong till you hit the throttle Bogs down and acts like a bad MAF however I swaped Maf's off of my 91, and swap Harnesses and swaped the ECU no change, Drained a 3/4 tank of gas (thinking could be bad Gas) and filled up with a new fuel filter....No change, Im stuck and I need help ..... I have another KA that im building....but im not tring to swap my engine this soon , Its my daily driver so its hurtin me bad.. so let me know if anyone has anymore options

possible egr gallery full of carbon deposits, try to disconnect the egr valve vacuum hose, plug & test drive it. If sputtering goes away, the ports are restricted. You can clean it, if u can remove the 4 freeze plugs at the intake& poked the ports. code 33 is for O2 sensor, possible u got a bad O2 sensor only, to test it, u need a digital volmeter. It's a 0-1 volt range. At engine warmup voltage should be around .3 to .8 volt fluctuations @ idle & high rpm.

would anything bad happen besides bad gas mileage if I made a block off plate and blocked the egr totally???? because I plan to do so anyway on my new motor w/turbo...

probably just a bad ground at the MAF too, u can test the black wire (ground) at the MAF w/ a digital voltmeter. Put the black lead of voltmeter to the negative terminal of battery & the red lead to the ground wire of the MAF , u should get at least 0.002 volt at least up to 3 decimals, it's a little high if ur getting 0.02 to 0.10 more or less. solder a ground wire there at the MAF ground wire & bolt it anywhere near the cylinder head ground wires & retest the voltage again.
