Did you check if the battery has enough power to start the car?

if when you hit the starter it sparked that indicates a lose connection. check to make sure both the larger nuts on the solonoid are tight.

found the problem and it was corrosion to the connectors of the old battery. replaced the battery and wiped all the corrosion and it starts great now

yeah batteries tend to work better when you can get juice outta them... i found the corrosion issue out this winter and got a new batt , starter then realized that i just needed to replace the old 89 ring terminal
